Young Women Leaders—Nancy Hanson talks with five inspired Young Women leaders—Ridi Kocani (Albania), Tiffany Price (Arizona), Rachelle Rhodes (Utah), Heather Rampton (Nevada), and Mindy Hawkins (New York). These leaders come from all around the world and discuss the creative ideas that have worked in their areas to overcome challenges and find success. They talk about different activities that have created great memories and strengthened many testimonies, preparing the young women for the future.

 Young Women Activity Ideas

  • “RAK” (Random Acts of Kindness) night
  • Photo scavenger hunt and then look at the pics together
  • Have a Health professional come and speak
  • Learn how to sew night
  • Tour a museum
  • Tour a government building
  • Basic Car Care – change fluids, tires, air pressure
  • Have a babysitting night so couples in the ward can attend the temple together
  • Finances – how to save for college, having a budget
  • Make up and skin care tips
  • Fashion on a budget
  • Attended a sporting event
  • Take cupcakes or sing hymns at a rest home
  • Watch a church movie.  Make it like a drive in and have the girls create their own cars out of cardboard boxes and other materials.
  • Cake decorating demonstration
  • Tour a local college, have an advisor explain different majors and areas of study
  • Make a movie in groups and watch together afterwards

  • Cleaning the Church

  • Talent Show, along with performing or displaying their talent, have the young women teach basics of their talent to the group
  • Music Night: Learn about Hymns and leading
  • Have each young women come dressed up as one of their ancestors and share about them
  • Tie quilts for a humanitarian aid group
  • Have a read-a-thon with the Book of Mormon
  • Play “Jeopardy” and use questions about church history, hymns, etc.
  • Split up into groups and play “Iron Chef”
  • Have the leaders make dinner for the young women and their parents and then hand out the recipes afterwards.
  • Become First Aid and CPR certified
  • Go on exchanges with the Sister Missionaries
  • Visit different work places and learn about different occupations
  • Have a service scavenger hunt around the neighborhood where the young women see how much service they can do in an allotted time

  • Make Valentine’s Day cookies and take to people in the ward/branch
  • Help put on a Easter egg hunt for the primary children
